2026 - Week 21 |

Hello Custom House
What great week of weather we’ve had. I hope your bank holiday was filled with BBQs, Ice cream and trips to the seaside. Have a look below to see if the heat had an impact on the Street Crimes in Custom House.
Public Order/Road Rage 24/05/2026 – A three-point turn in Edwin Street resulted in a minor collision, which then escalated into reports of males fighting in the street. Approximately 15 minutes after the argument, one of the individuals involved reported that windows at his home address had been smashed and threats had been made towards him.
Theft from a person (Attempted) 21/05/2026 – Two males riding e-bikes attempted to steal a phone from a pedestrian on Freemasons Road. Fortunately, the victim had a cord attached to her phone, preventing the suspects from taking it. Two members of the public witnessed the incident. One immediately contacted police, while the other, who was driving nearby, had to swerve to avoid colliding with the suspects. Both remained with the victim until officers arrived. A big thank you and well done to both members of the public for their support and quick actions
Criminal Damage 26/05/2026 – A garden trellis was damaged by an unknown suspect in Young Road.
Grievous Bodily Harm 27/05/2026 – At approximately 3pm yesterday, a group of males threw a noxious liquid into the face of another male behind Cundy Park. The 30-year-old victim was treated at the scene by police before being taken to hospital. As this remains an active investigation, I am unable to provide further details at this time. However, it is currently believed that the victim and suspects are known to one another.
Robbery 24/05/2026 – Two males wearing balaclavas approached a man on Prince Regent Lane, pushed him to the ground, stole his bag, and demanded his phone. There is along P R lane and CCTV footage is being examined.
Theft 21/05/2026 – At Ladbrokes, an unlucky winner had their winning ticket solen by unknown means and was cashed in at another store.
Other Crime Police have conducted a number of stop and searches across Custom House this week, resulting in the recovery of drugs and bladed articles from various individuals.
Did you know Under Section 12 of the Licensing Act 1872, it is actually an offence to be found drunk on any licensed premises, including a pub. & Under the Metropolitan Police Act 1839, it is illegal to carry a plank of wood along a pavement unless you are immediately loading or unloading it from a vehicle.
Until next week, keep those planks indoors
Be Good, Have Fun & Stay Safe
